Review for MSEP2012 Endpoint Protection Cookbook

by on Jan.23, 2013, under Computing, Microsoft

As in my job we are gearing more and more to using the Microsoft System Centre suite, I decided it I have better read up on the endpoint protection before we look at using it. I started searching for a good book on the subject and found the the Microsoft System Centre 2012 Endpoint Protection Cookbook http://www.packtpub.com/microsoft-system-center-2012-endpoint-protection-cookbook/book.

From start to finish this book helps you through the installation of the server, rolling out the client and the updates over the network and configuring groups to define the behavour of the client depending on what group it is a member of. As most of the machines that we would be looking to manage with this tool will be servers I the use of the command line tool mpcmdrun.exe and the use of psexec to connect to remote machine is going to be a great help.

I am really impressed with the knowledge contained in this book and will definitely be using it as a reference to ensure our own SCEP environment runs smoothly.
